Ambulance categories explained
- BLS (Basic Life Support) — oxygen delivery, suction, AED, spine board, cervical collar, splints, trauma kit and stretcher, crewed by a trained EMT and driver. Right for most factory and commercial sites where stabilise-and-shift is the objective.
- ALS (Advanced Life Support) — everything in BLS plus multipara monitor, manual defibrillator, transport ventilator, infusion and syringe pumps, intubation set and an emergency drug tray, crewed by a doctor or critical-care paramedic. Required for high-hazard chemical, power, offshore-adjacent and large construction sites.
- Patient Transport Ambulance (PTA) — non-emergency shifting, discharge transfers, camp support
- Mobile Medical Unit — clinic-on-wheels with examination area, diagnostics and pharmacy for remote and linear sites
- Motorbike / quick response vehicle — first responder access in congested plants and long corridors
- Neonatal, cardiac and mortuary vehicles arranged on demand through the network
Crew & clinical protocol
- Emergency Medical Technicians certified in BLS and pre-hospital trauma care
- Ambulance drivers with defensive driving training, valid badge and site permits
- Optional onboard doctor or critical-care nurse for ALS contracts
- Standard treatment protocols, handover checklists and casualty documentation

Yes. Many sites begin with on-call cover plus a mapped hospital pathway and upgrade to a stationed vehicle once headcount or hazard class increases.
